AMANDA + CHANDLER’S WEDDING BY BRE TAULBEE
I first met Amanda and Chandler in February of 2017 when I did an intimate in-home engagement session including their pets and their basketball team rivalry (Go Cats!). We then braved the cold to do some outdoor portraits at a park in Morehead Kentucky. Right away I could tell they were each other’s #1 and best friend. They balance each other out and that’s important in a relationship.
I did a second engagement shoot in the Fall of 2017. I love being able to work with couple’s before their wedding day to get a feel for what they like and what they want to see in their images. Throughout the session we talked about wedding details and our love of animals.
After their second engagement session we continually messaged back and forth throughout the next year making sure I knew everything I needed to know about their special day!
Fast forward to October 6th, 2018: I met with Amanda in Morehead at the salon she was getting her hair done. Here I met her mom, sisters and niece. It was evident right away how close Amanda is with her family!
From the salon I drove up to their venue The Black Horse Farm in Rush, Ky. I walked up to the bridal suite that overlooked the “arena” where the ceremony and reception would take place. The room was buzzing with excitement! The bride, bride’s mom, groom’s mom, bridesmaids and flower girls got ready and made sure everything was in place for the fast approaching ceremony.
Amanda and Chandler’s ceremony was full of love, laughs, tears of joy, and beautiful words about their long relationship. I cried behind my camera as they read their vows to each other. During this time I learned so much about how strong they make each other. Individually they are both wonderful humans, but being together is obviously good for their souls. They just make sense. They are each other’s “favorite favorite.”
I learn something about love at each wedding I photograph. And at this one I learned that love should be as effortless and easy as theirs.
